5 stars (If you want an online game this is the one to pick.) - I really love this game! I have been playing for more than 6 months and the "new" effect still hasn't worn off. The graphics are great and there are alot of places to explore. It's easy to level and items aren't too expensive. Trust me. This game is worth its price!
4 stars (Good addictive game.) - I like this game a lot. You can play it however you want, although it does mostly sadly caters to hardcore games, rather then casual gamers. It is still really good.
Graphics-wise its looks decent, not the best, and not the worst but decent. Community-wise i have found all depends on the individual. you have to make things happen, you also have to work to make a community in the game. Gameplay-wise i think it is a little on the easy-side but a lot of fun.
To respond breiefly to the guy talking about Guild-Wars.

If 15 a month is a problem for you, get a better job or stop playing the game.

Again, your opinion. While I would like it to look a little more realistic, I don't view it negatively that it is not.

Anyway, to conclude. My biggest problem with the game is how addictive it tends to be. I use to run home from work, and play the game 4-5 hours a night. Now I am down to 1 hour a day, which is where I will stay with my playing time. I guess that is a good sign that it is a really good game.
I highly recommend this game, just watch your usage of it as its addictive.
2 stars (Great game service is terrible) - While WOW is great when it comes to game play, getting to play is the biggest problem.
I've been playing for a year and at this point the servers are having problems more than 3 days a week(taking 2 hours or more to be able to log in). Contacting customer service is the worst. They will tell you that nothing is wrong when you call in to report a problem and then if you have proof otherwise they hang up on you. If you try to e-mail them you get a canned response that comes down to "learn how to play".
Server time is poor and results in a very laggy game (purchased a system specifically for gaming and it still lags). Disconnects happen often. Want to see what the players themselves have to say? Check out their forums at http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/ and go to the tech support forums. Also check out what you find out if you search google for world of warcraft spyware.
This information is based on my experience and may not happen for everyone, but if I knew this when I purchased the game, I wouldn't have no matter how cool the game itself was. |
